Our Position in Plain Terms
NetworkCheckr does not sell your personal information. We also do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, which is often called targeted advertising.
Several US state privacy laws give residents the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. This page explains our practices and your rights. It applies to residents of states with consumer privacy laws, including but not limited to:
- California — California Consumer Privacy Act / California Privacy Rights Act (CCPA/CPRA)
- Virginia — Virginia Consumer Data Protection Act (VCDPA)
- Colorado — Colorado Privacy Act (CPA)
- Connecticut — Connecticut Data Privacy Act (CTDPA)
- Utah — Utah Consumer Privacy Act (UCPA)
- Texas — Texas Data Privacy and Security Act (TDPSA)
- Oregon — Oregon Consumer Privacy Act (OCPA)
- Montana — Montana Consumer Data Privacy Act (MCDPA)
What Information We Collect
NetworkCheckr is a free networking tools and education site. We do not require account creation. We do not collect names, email addresses, or other directly identifying details through normal site use.
Information that may be collected includes:
- Usage data: Pages visited, time on site, referring URLs, and similar analytics data.
- Device and browser information: Browser type, operating system, screen resolution, and language preferences.
- IP address: Processed by our hosting provider for server logs and security. Google Analytics 4 does not store IP addresses.
- Cookies and similar technologies: Used by our analytics provider, Google Analytics 4. See our Cookie Policy for details.
We Do Not Sell or Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information for money or other value. We do not share it for targeted advertising.
We use Google Analytics 4 to measure site traffic. We use that data only for reporting inside Analytics. We do not run advertising, and we do not build advertising audiences from it.
Under these state laws, Google acts as our service provider for analytics. It processes data on our behalf under a written agreement, not as a buyer of your data.
We do not use advertising networks, ad exchanges, or data brokers.
Global Privacy Control (GPC)
Some browsers and extensions send a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal. It tells sites that you want to opt out of the sale or sharing of your data.
Because we do not sell or share personal information, there is nothing for GPC to opt out of today. If we ever begin selling or sharing, we will treat a GPC signal as a valid opt-out request.
You can enable GPC in browsers like Firefox, Brave, and DuckDuckGo, or through a browser extension.
Your Additional Rights
Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to:
- Know what personal information we collect and how it is used.
- Delete personal information we have collected from you.
- Correct inaccurate personal information.
- Non-discrimination — we will not treat you differently for exercising your privacy rights.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below. We will respond within the time your state’s law requires, which is often 45 days.
For more about the data we collect and how we use it, please review our Privacy Policy.
